On 6 June 2025, DigiMedFor successfully hosted its first public dissemination event in Limnia Forest, Kavala, Greece, bringing together local and regional stakeholders to showcase how cutting-edge digital technologies are transforming Mediterranean forest management.
The event focused on Pilot 2 of the DigiMedFor project, highlighting innovative approaches that combine ground-based and remote sensing tools, including:
Hyperspectral drone cameras for assessing wood structure and composition
AI-powered ground robots for monitoring tree health
Drone image analysis for object detection and forest inventory

Participants — including forest managers, owners, policymakers, researchers, and technology providers — were introduced to the Traceability Portal and digital workflows that help assess timber volume and quality more accurately, supporting transparent and sustainable practices across the forest-wood supply chain.
The event featured live demonstrations in the forest, knowledge sharing between stakeholders, and discussion of how digital tools can be scaled across the Mediterranean region.
We extend a warm thank you to all who attended and contributed to a truly inspiring day in the forest!
